Trailer-Trash Studio is our new Minneapolis warehouse space in the Art and Architecture building (3338 University Ave SE, Minneapolis MN 55414), where we get to unload all our fabulous finds, set them up and hang out. Oh, and we're having occasional sales there as well - like our first one on July 28th, 29th and 30th, 2017. Click here to see the event information -- vendors throughout the building are having a Summer Sale, so it will be a great place to find junk treasures. Stop in, we're in the back on the 2nd floor, look for the big mural of the trailers on the wall, and you'll probably hear the tunes cranking from the turntable as well.
We're taking Trailer Trash on the road, to Junkstock in Waterloo NE! This will be our first longer road trip and we can't wait for on the road sunshine to bounce off our Canned Ham, Toaster-On-Wheels, beloved Airstream! It's probably obvious we love to go junking, but we have a few other interests/passions as well. Food for instance. Music definitely. Those things recently brought us to NoLa for the Jazz Fest (yup, we did some trashy searching as well). Here are a few picks: Crazy thing is, Junkstock has all THREE of our top loves: Junk, Food and Music. Check out their website HERE. To sign off, we'll include some photos of some of the finds we've dug up during the long, Minnesota winter. Let the junking season begin!
We have the final spit shine on the trailer and we are ready for customers! Please come and visit us at the Dakota County Fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday at Vintage Fest America. There will be music, food trucks, beer & fascinating finds from around the world. We are really excited to showcase our different categories, which are: Desktop and Bar (after a day at the desk, then, in the words of Don Draper, "it's time to warm up some ice cubes."), Lake and Cabin, Vintage Outdoor, Inspired Home and World Travel. See you there!
The trailer put off a warm glow and a cool vibe earlier this month when we had a Friends and Family launch party. We, like most people, needed a deadline to push us to get the project done! And a trial run of putting it all together was not only fun, but got us ready for the real deal at Vintage Fest America July 8th and 9th at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. It was a beautiful summer evening filled with jazz records, mojitos, cool merchandise and dear friends. We had great reaction to the merchandise and almost everyone walked away with something they couldn’t live without. Particular favorites were the cabin section and the metal bar trays. We see it as the first of many interesting events with fascinating things (and people) from around the world.
Choosing interior elements for a fresh, interior space is like a season of American Idol - you have to sit through a lot of hopefuls, but eventually the best make their way to the top of the list. We have the winners of the soon-to-be-installed surfaces in The Colonel (the moniker of the Airstream). Trailer-Trash is going for that modern rustic feel, so it will have a wood floor and elements of warm wood in the shelving, to offset all that bright, shiny aluminum. It's the perfect combo to display all the must-have-Trailer-Trash merchandise, my dear! Looking forward to rolling out soon!
We are currently creating the amazing interior environment that will soon be Trailer-Trash. Follow our progress as we prepare to hit the road, bringing you a myriad of treasures old and new. As we like to say, "We've got nothing you need and everything you'll love!"
