Trailer-Trash trivia
It started with a glimmer…
The 1964 Airstream Safari trailer was purchased as an abandoned project. The previous owners had completely stripped the interior to the aluminum skin. They removed all of the electrical, plumbing and gas systems, and replaced the floor and running gear. At that point, it would have been an immensely expensive and complicated project to bring back to original camper state. However, it was a perfect canvas to create an open light-filled retail space albeit only 200 sq. ft. (plus outdoor space).
If this trailer could talk...
The trailer was originally purchased by a retired WWII Colonel in California, thus it has been christened with the name “The Colonel." One of the most beloved features in the trailer is a 1975 Turista sticker on the window from a long-ago trip to Mexico. Remember to look for it next time you stop by a event!
Adventures in retailing…
The mix of inventory changes frequently based on the location or event, as well as what vintage treasures Trailer-Trash owner, Tom Trutna, encounters while traveling. Ask about the history behind the fascinating finds in the trailer and feel free to share your own treasure-hunting tales, we’re all ears!
